Part 1 (4-5 minutes)
Directions: Answer naturally and directly. Aim for 2-3 sentences per answer.

  • Topic: Your Home
    • Do you live in a house or an apartment?
    • How long have you lived there?
    • What is your favorite thing about your home?
  • Topic: Collections
    • Did you collect anything as a child?
    • Do you collect anything now?
    • Why do you think people like collecting things?
  • Topic: Old Items
    • Do you like to keep old things?
    • What is one old thing you have kept for a long time?
    • Why do some people throw things away easily?

Part 2 (3-4 minutes)
Directions: You have 1 minute to prepare and should speak for 1-2 minutes.
👉 Describe something you or someone you know collects.
You should say:

  • What is collected
  • How long they have been collecting it
  • How the collection is stored
    and explain why this collection is interesting.

Part 3 (4-5 minutes)
Directions: Discuss the broader themes. Give extended answers (4-6 sentences).

  • What are the benefits of collecting things as a hobby?
  • Why do you think some collections become very valuable?
  • How has the internet affected the hobby of collecting?
  • What is the difference between collecting things and hoarding?
  • Do you think museums are important for preserving collections for the public?
