Part 3

  • What are the responsibilities of parents in raising children?
  • How has the role of families changed in modern times?
  • Do you think family relationships are stronger or weaker now compared to the past?
  • Should governments support families financially?

Sample Band 6 Answer for “How has the role of families changed in modern times?”
“In modern times, families are becoming smaller because people prefer to have fewer children. Also, parents are busy with their work, so they spend less time with their kids. Technology also makes people spend less time together, which is a big change.”

Why Band 6: Good ideas but lacks variety in sentence structure and deeper explanation.

Sample Band 7 Answer for “Should governments support families financially?”
“Yes, I believe governments should support families financially, especially those with low incomes. For example, providing subsidies for childcare or education can help reduce the financial burden on parents. This can ensure that children have access to basic needs and opportunities, which ultimately benefits society as a whole.”

Why Band 7: Balanced opinion, specific example, and a clear, logical argument.
