📘 HOPE vs WISH — What’s the Difference?
These two words are similar, but they are used in different ways. Let’s break it down!
✨ 1. HOPE (for possible situations)
We use hope when we think something is possible or likely to happen. It shows optimism or a real expectation.
🔹 Present or Future Possibilities:
HOPE + simple present (or future with “will”)
- ✅ I hope you pass the exam.
- ✅ I hope we will see each other soon.
🔹 Plans or Intentions:
HOPE + to + verb (infinitive)

🔹 Unknown Past Events:

We use wish for things that are not true or not possible. It shows regret or wanting something to be different.

WISH + simple past (subjunctive)

WISH + past perfect

Both hope and wish can also be nouns!
