📘 How to Use the Word “Being” in English


1️⃣ “Being” as a Noun

Here, being means a person, creature, or life form. It is like the word existence.

✅ Examples:

  • A human being needs food and water.
  • Do you believe in strange beings from other planets?
  • Every living being wants to be safe.
  • Kindness is important for every being on Earth.

2️⃣ “Being” in Continuous Tenses

We use being in continuous tenses to show temporary behavior, not a permanent state.

✅ Examples:

  • You are being silly. (right now, not always)
  • She is being very quiet today.
